BankWare
Announces ImageCentre™
Atlanta,
GA, November 3, 1999 - BankWare
announced today ImageCentre™, the financial industry’s first
complete Internet-browser based and integrated Check Imaging, Document
Imaging, and COLD solution.
ImageCentre
was designed utilizing the system architecture of the Internet Computing
Model, and has applied that technology to the financial industry’s
back office paper-based processing of checks and payments. ImageCentre
is the first browser-based solution that meets a financial institutions
total document processing needs.
“With
the evolution of the Internet, the software industry has undergone
tremendous changes in the last few years,” said Bob Darty, principal
of BankWare. “Our belief is that the Internet Computing Model has
become the standard for new software development. Fundamentally, we
believe application software will continue to move away from
proprietary, Windows-based applications to Internet browser-based
applications,” continued Darty.
The benefit of the Internet Computing Model with
a browser-based application is an overall reduced total cost of
ownership for a financial institution, which is recognized through the
following:
Flexibility/Operability- the
ability to operate on any desktop platform with standard software
already installed on the PC.
Compatibility- deploying
browser-based solutions eliminates the costly “single-function”
workstation in a financial institution, while ensuring continued
utilization of an institutions existing hardware.
Reduced client
and server software licensing requirements.
Ease of Use- web browser software is easy to implement
and understand, which reduces training time and enhances productivity.
Browsers are also utilized by many financial institutions today across
corporate intranets, extranets, and the Internet.
Reliability- the stability of browsers reduces support
requirements.
Scalability- the system can be scaled and deployed to
meet a financial institution’s continuing growth needs.
The
benefits of Image technology continue to be realized by financial
institutions. Improved customer service, streamlined processing,
reduction in operating expenses, and the continued development of image
based products continue to provide justifiable reasons for institutions
to make investments in image based payment processing systems.
The
development of ImageCentre followed in-depth industry analysis,
extensive insight from industry consultants and vendors, and thorough
focus group meetings. “We conducted focus group meetings with
financial institutions that have implemented image technology with
multiple vendors, in addition to institutions that have not yet deployed
an image solution of any kind,” stated Andrew Botzer, National Sales
Manager. “From these meetings, we identified many opportunities to
overcome limitations with existing systems, while generating some
outstanding new ideas that have been incorporated into the design of
ImageCentre,” continued Botzer.
“BankWare
has taken our core expertise, over a decade of experience in building
and implementing processing systems in financial institutions, and
married that with the latest, most stable technological tools, to build
ImageCentre,” stated Ken Bush, principal of BankWare. “ ImageCentre
is truly a third generation image product for a second generation
industry.”
BankWare
will install ImageCentre on November 15, 1999. Applications within the
ImageCentre Check image solution include Image POD, Power Encode, the
Exclusive ScanAll Recognition system, Remittance Processing, Email
Statements, Internet-based Positive Pay, Smart Statements, and more.
