To Begin Installation Of ImageCentre™
Birmingham,
AL, November 15, 1999 - BankWare
announces the first installation of ImageCentre™ -- the financial
industry’s first complete Internet browser-based and integrated check
imaging, document imaging, remittance processing, and COLD Solution, is
underway.
“We
are delighted to be started with the first installation of ImageCentre.
We believe this marks a significant change in technology utilization for
financial institutions,” stated Bob Darty, principle of BankWare.
“Traditionally, financial institutions have had several different
systems for each back office paper-based processing function. With
ImageCentre, we are successfully merging the ‘Islands of
Information’ on one common platform and distributing that information
enterprise wide through standard browser technology.”

ImageCentre, a financial institution will no longer need to maintain
costly ‘single function workstations’ as they do with legacy
applications today,” said Ken Bush, principle of BankWare. “By
deploying an industry standard browser based and Internet Protocol (IP)
based solution, BankWare has created the next generation of imaging
products today. We believe ImageCentre is a third generation application
in a second generation industry.”
While
this marks the first installation of ImageCentre, this is not the first
check or document imaging installation in the corporate history of
BankWare. With the development of the financial industry’s first Image
POD application in 1991, BankWare has sold, installed, and supported
check and document imaging systems for the past eight years.
The
financial institution that is currently being installed, to respect
privacy and competitive issues, will remain confidential until the
institution announces their intent to bring image products and services
to their local market.
BankWare,
based in Birmingham, AL, was formed in 1982 and is a privately held
company. In 1991, BankWare developed the industry’s first Image Proof
of Deposit system, which today is utilized by more than 600 financial
institutions throughout the US and internationally. BankWare also
provides platform automation to more than 200 financial institutions
throughout the US.
